Academy Consult Munich

The idea of a student-run consultancy is not new – The Consulting Academy’s founders learned in Munich’s student consultancy Academy Consult what it means to be a student consultant. The idea is simple: Connecting businesses and students in consulting projects. During the last 15 years, generations of members of Academy Consult conducted over 300 projects for different customers – ranging from small startups to NGOs and internationally expanding enterprises such as Siemens. Today, we can rely on more than 100 active students consultants, a constantly growing alumni network, our network of student-run consultancies BDSU in Germany and corporate partnerships with several renowned companies such as Accenture, Boston Consulting Group, Siemens and Amazon. Day by day, we are focusing on our goal and mission: To develop students into experienced professionals with an entrepreneurial mindset by adding value to businesses in consulting projects. During our recruiting, we are especially aware that our new members highly commit to our core values: self-initiative, diversity and a sense of responsibility, taking ownership in their internal tasks and external projects. Thereafter, all members of Academy Consult have to pass six months as a trainee, learning essential skills in basic trainings and performing in an internal trainee project to gain first experience on how consulting projects work. Important is our diverse portfolio of members: We are recruiting on every university in Munich in all disciplines – knowing that interdisciplinary teams are able to achieve highest results by taking different perspectives. Besides projects, our student consultants are also engaged in the internal life of our organization. Organized in five departments, we are shaping our own future by working on student and company marketing, recruiting, corporate relations, legal, finance and IT. Each challenge makes us stronger – and more ready to start our careers after studies. Surprisingly, not every almuni can be found in a professional consultancy: 25% of our former members are starting their own business and more than one third of our alumni are working for internationally operating enterprises – one more sign that student consultancies do not only prepare young people for a career in the consulting world, but equip students with highly relevant knowledge and experience for a successful future as an entrepreneur or employee in companies. A professor of Technical University Munich once said that Academy Consult Munich is able to prepare students for their professional life way more better than university ever could – by forming networks, by providing practical experience, by broadening one’s horizons. We believe that one day, we will be able to write a similar text about The Consulting Academy in Nairobi. Let’s work together on building bridges and on forming friendships to look ahead into a brighter future for Nairobi’s students. Be a part and get in touch. We are awaiting you.
